i'm a nerd.

any suggestions for summer reading?
so far, i've read Hey Nostradamus by Douglas Coupland and A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Taves. I just started Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. and I've read some of Jane Eyre, but the beginning is kind of dull.

i just registered for courses. yay.
i'm taking:

History 250 - Twentieth Century History
(I had to take two history courses and i didn't know what to take, this course sounds interesting)

History 232/Canadian Studies 232 - The History of Education in Canada
(i'm going to be a teacher and apparently this is a pretty good course....)

Environmental Science 270 - Environmental Science for Teachers
(i'm so excited for this course. it's about teaching science to elementary school students. i never thought i'd take science outside of high school, so it's something different and exciting. there's a lab even! i plan on taking the math version of this course next year).

English 2500 - Foundations in Canadian Literature
(i have to take either Canadian, American or World Literature, if i decide to major or minor in english so i'm trying to keep my options open....)

English 2000 - Foundations in Practical Criticism and Theory
(this is a required course...like the equivalent to Academic Writing)

and i get friday's off! although, i'll be using them to student teach for awhile.

anyways, got to jet. work in an hour and a bit.

I also read most of Sense and Sensibility, and I guess I liked it, I just couldn't quite make myself finish for some reason. Let me know what happens at the end..please?

If you liked those first two, I'd perhaps suggest The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. It's funny, dark, sad, and h-core brilliant.
